Write like one person
Use their name and one real detail. Replace every bracket before you send. A note that could have gone to anyone is a blast, even if you send it one at a time.
The same words work in a Whop DM or an email. A DM can be the short version. An email can carry a subject line. Neither version should sound like a campaign. Write it at a time when you would actually answer if they replied the same day.
- Coaching: name the next session, or the last thing they were working on.
- Course: name one lesson. Do not point them at the whole library.
- Community: name one thread, call, or question. “The community” is not a detail.
These notes assume the member has gone quiet inside Whop. How that 7, 14, and 30 day list is built is in find inactive Whop members. The longer gaps sit inside the shorter one, so a person quiet for a month is also on the 7-day list. Send the note that matches the gap you are looking at. Do not send all three.
About 7 days
Assume they are busy. One specific pointer is enough. This is early silence, useful when the first week should already have included a visit.
Hey [Name], the [one specific lesson, thread, or call] is the useful bit if you only have a few minutes this week. Want the link?
Subject: One place to pick up
Hey [Name],
You have not opened [the course or community] in about a week. That is a busy week, not a verdict.
If you want one place to start, it is [one specific lesson, thread, or call]. Reply if you want me to point you at it. If you are already set, you can ignore this.
About 14 days
Two weeks is long enough to offer a smaller restart, and to ask if the first part missed. Still one ask.
Hey [Name], about two weeks since you opened [the course or community]. [One short next step] is enough to restart, or tell me if the first part missed what you came for.
Subject: A smaller next step
Hey [Name],
It has been about two weeks since you opened [the course or community]. I am not writing to chase you.
If you still want this, [one short next step] is a fine place to restart. If the first part did not fit, one sentence back is more useful than another nudge.
About 30 days
A month of silence is when a renewal often feels optional. Ask whether they still want it. Leave room for “I am away” and for “this is not for me.”
Hey [Name], about a month since you opened [the course or community]. Do you still want it, or has the goal changed? One line is enough. If you are just away, no need to answer.
Subject: Still a fit?
Hey [Name],
It has been about a month since you opened [the course or community]. I would rather ask than guess.
If you still want it, say so and I will send one place to restart. If the goal changed, that is a fine answer. If you are away, leave this unread.
When a renewal is coming up
If you know the renewal date, send one plain note a few days before it. Do not invent a date, and do not claim you know they are about to cancel.
A few days before the date is enough time for them to decide. The morning it renews is late if they needed a moment to cancel. Skip this note when you do not know the date. Quiet is not a renewal date.
Hey [Name], [plan] renews on [date]. You have not opened [the course or community] in a while, so I am checking before that date. Still useful, or would you rather cancel?
Subject: Before [plan] renews on [date]
Hey [Name],
[Plan] renews on [date]. You have not opened [the course or community] in a while, so this is a check before that date.
If you still want it, [one specific lesson, thread, or call] is the place to start. If you do not, cancel before [date]. I will not follow this with an offer.
What not to do
Do not guilt-trip, do not add a discount they did not ask for, and do not write to members whose only home is Discord or Telegram. Whop last-accessed time cannot see those apps.
- No guilt. Skip “everyone else is showing up” and “you are wasting this.”
- No countdown, no fake urgency, and no claim that you saw a cancellation coming.
- No discount they did not ask for, and no second offer if they do not reply.
- No mass send. If the brackets are still in the text, it is not ready.
- One note, then stop. A follow-up is for a reply, not for more silence.
The wider habit, including first-week onboarding and a single exit question, is in how to reduce Whop cancellations.
Know who these are for
The free inactive-member audit lists current members with no Whop activity for 7, 14, and 30 days, plus estimated monthly plan value at risk. That estimate is exposure, not a prediction. The audit does not send these notes and does not change memberships.
Use it when members open a course, Whop chat, or another content app. If Whop is only checkout for Discord or Telegram, last-accessed time does not describe the place they actually use, and these notes will land on the wrong people. To pull the same timestamps yourself, read how to list inactive members with the Whop API.
